Here at Next Generation, we aim to change the way education is done. We Believe in the Power of words.
Let's explain a few of the unique pieces of terminology we use here on this side of the world. (It's only a different world metaphorically, not physically.)
Next Generation
Next Generation is more than just a generalized discussion about the children who will become our Future. Next Generation is our brand name :) I have a feeling you're gonna be hearing a lot about us in the near Future. Some good, some bad ;) Everyone is entitled to their opinion. 🫶🏾
Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse, and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury.
Proverbs 9:7
Learning Facilitator
Learning facilitator's are the name we give our educators in charge. They are Loving, caring, Respectful, professional, educated, qualified, passionate, stern, understanding, committed, and prepared. You may be used to referring to them as a 'tutor' or a 'teacher'.
Learning facilitators use an inquiry based approach to learning. They focus on letting students explore, wrestle with, question, make sense of, critique and otherwise dive deeply into the material being presented in order to discover the intended lesson. This method results in Top Tier, life-long learning.
Our facilitators are not the beholders of all knowledge and all intelligence and all good ideas. Our facilitators are well aware of the many kinds of intelligences that exist in the human population and our students. They Believe in and find ways to pull out the genius in our students. They continuously bring the Focus back to the student. The student is the one responsible to utilize all resources, create problem solving strategies, find the pathway, and reach conclusions themselves. Our facilitators will merely facilitate this discovery. Our facilitators will provide the resources, models, example strategies, feedback, redirection, thought provoking questions, and guidance for the student to successfully reach necessary conclusions.
Why the difference?
Teachers and tutors typically (not always) take a lecture based aporoach to learning. In the traditional educational environment, you will find information being thrown at students, procedures repeated and placed around the room, questions on relevance to the real world met with disciplinary action, and exams expecting identical regurgitation of all the information received thus far.
Here at Next Generation, we believe lecture based regurgitation has been the cause of a lot of problems in society. Children were not taught to think for themselves, so as a consequence, adults have been struggling with little to no common sense, comprehension, application, and critical thinking skills.
We're not standing for that here. We, at Next Generation, encourage and require students to think for themselves. We support students at all turns, but we require the students to take on the responsibility for their learning. The difference is in the statistics. (Check out the blog post on our statistics.)
Students
We kept some things the same. Are you happy :)

Beloved
Beloved is an alternative word we use here at Next Generation for students. It's simply Respecting the diversity of life where the student you are advocating for may be your child, grandchild, nephew, niece, foster child, adopted child, step child, cousin, friend, etc etc. There's so many reasons YOU as a Great human are involved in this child's life. They are a Beloved member of society to you; they are a Beloved part of Next Generation as well :)
Random Capitalizations
As we stated in the beginning of this post, we Believe in the Power of words. They say you should capitalize all proper nouns. This is how you know what's important at Next Generation. If it is capitalized, it is a proper noun in our books :)
Read: Power, Future, Respect, Believe, etc
Session Names
Our session names are things such as Respect, Ingenuity, and Creativity because we wanted to take the opportunity to share some of our company values. Rather than being boring and naming each session by letters or numbers, we chose to be creative and fun with the names :) Don't worry, the session will be Focused on what your Beloved needs. The name is just a name.
